Cough Alley

I don't normally explain a piece I write, but the piece below was inspired by the speech of Harry Smith of Barnsley at the Labour party conference 2014. Harry a true hero of the working class. Sadly Labour has forgotten who its supposed to represent, but I hope Harry's words inspires more than words, but a real fight back from the people.

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it",( George Santayana)

Cough Alley

It’s not like in my day
Six to a bed all nice and snug

Sharing is caring so they say
As tick n flea jump from me to thee

Health is no worry
On an austerity diet plan
No money, Hey don’t worry.

When TB strikes, you can sit on the step
You can join the chorus, of the lung choir.

We have lots of sounds down our way
Weeping tears, coughs and screams

Self service health care
Just for you and yours.

This was our past
I’m sure we can count on you
To make it our future.

So don’t worry
Carry on being celebrity,
I’m an ostrich

We have reserved a place
For child, and grand child

A nice little place

Down cough alley
