Stood for a chat about this and that
The man who’s word lifted your soul to undreamed of hope
The man who captivated your dreams of a better world
Sometimes in speeches that lifted the roof
Often by just saying hello and asking “how you are”
The man who never brushed you aside.
The man who made the impossible become possible
The man who stood with us when others abandoned us
The man who’s only weapon was a pipe, and passion for
justice for all
The man who fought for need over greed
The man who made you feels everyone matters.
The man who has now been taken from us
The man who will never be forgotten.
